About 48,000 members were using the humming online community help platform with little ability to customise their profile.

Problem statement

How might we create a more unique and personal experience for our forum members?

Originally launched in July 2011, Telstra Crowdsupport is an online forum for customers to crowd source customer service. They can share knowledge and get advice about products and services with each other and Telstra service folks are always on hand to jump in when needed.

There was a large user base and not a lot of account customisation on offer. Our team identified an opportunity to provide a personal online experience to each community member.

The idea

Create a unique, bespoke collection of new profile avatars for customers to customise their online account identity.

Deliverables

To celebrate the diversity of our customer base, I digitally illustrated more than 50 unique avatars for members to choose their own CrowdSupport community profile image.

A truly fun design exploration of culture, fashion and hair styles!

The internal Telstra Digital UX team got so excited, they requested personalised avatars of their own! 🙌

I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we stand and graciously breathe. I pay my respects to all Indigenous Elders past and present. Sovereignty has never been ceded. It always was and always will be, mother earth of First Nations.
